Our Calling

Most people have a hard time believing that the God of Isra’el through the Anointed-Messiah of Isra’el, Yeshua, has called us to be “Orthodox Judaists” without losing Him in the process. A Judaist is “one who believes in and practices some form of Judaism.” We lived our lives as Christians for the first half of our lives, then for the past twenty years, we have lived as Messianic believers, but now God is calling us to live as much as “Orthodox Judaists” as we can without losing our faith in Yeshua, We are reluctant to use the word “Jew” since we are not ethnically Jewish, but if the other answer does not suffice, then we will say that we are “Jews by choice – not by birth.”

The Disbelief & their Reasons

Nether Christians nor mainstream Jews understand our calling. Christians believe that we have turned our back on Yeshua and have forsaken the faith; whereas, mainstream Jews believe that we are not being honest about not being “Christians” and are pretending to believe in Judaism, so that we can secretly convert Jews to Christianity, but both groups would be wrong. We observe the weekly 7th-day Sabbath, we keep the feasts, we keep kosher as we can, and we follow as many commandments as we possibly can. Christians call such a life “legalism,” but it is not, it is “obedience,” and you know there is a problem when they do not know the difference between “obedience” and “legalism.”

Christian Deceptions

However, God has revealed to us that what He wants from all people is that they walk in both the Torah of Mosheh (Moses) and in the Spirit. He wants us to do BOTH. However, Christians have bought into a deception of the Enemy, HaSatan, and they have divided their Bibles, and they believe that what they call the “New Testament” has “replaced,” “annulled,” “done away with,” or even “superseded” the previous Scriptures, which is not true at all. All of the Scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation, is the Tanakh, the Holy Scriptures. The writings of the disciples of Yeshua is supposed to be a continuation of the third part of the Tanakh, called “the Writings.” They were never meant to be divided’ and separated. Thus, Christians would be far better if they ripped out of their Bibles those two dividing sheets: the first that says “Old Testament” that comes before the book of Genesis, and the other that says “New Testament,” that comes before the book of Matthew, and then they treated the whole Bible as one continuous revelation from God – not two distinctly different revelations, as you hear taught in Christian churches.

Christian “Salvation” – Not An Event?

Christianity has salvation wrong as well. They teach that it is an event. They believe that if we believe that God has redeemed us through the death, burial, and resurrection of Yeshua, then we are saved. However, salvation is not an event. It is a process. A better paradigm or pattern to use is the Exodus. When the ancient Israelites killed the lamb and put its blood on the door posts and the two lintels of their homes, they were not automatically transported to the Promised Land, but they were delivered from the final plague, which was the death of the first born, but they still needed to leave Egypt and cross the Red Sea, before they were out of Egypt. And then they needed to make their way to Mt. Sinai to receive a revelation of God and His commandments, and they needed to make their way through the wilderness where they were repeatedly tested to see if God’s commandments were truly in their minds and hearts (Deuteronomy 8:2), BEFORE they were allowed to go into the Promised Land.

Salvation – “An Exodus”?

And just like the ancient Israelites, we too must go on our own Exoduses BEFORE we will be allowed to go into the Promised Land of God’s Kingdom. By believing that God has redeemed us by the death, burial, and resurrection of Yeshua, the Anointed-Messiah of Israel, we have only taken the first step in applying “the blood of the Lamb” to the door posts and lintels of our lives, we still must leave the “Egypts” of our old sinful lives behind, and cross the “Red Sea” (water immersion/baptism) BEFORE we have left “Egypt” (our past sins). Then we still must go on to “Mt. Sinai” with the rest of Isra’el – we attach ourselves to Isra’el – where we will experience the revelation of God and receive the commandments that were handed down from God through Mosheh (Moses), and then in the rest of our life, we will be repeatedly tested to see if His commandments are truly in our minds and our hearts as He did the ancient Israelites BEFORE we will be allowed into His Promised Land, His promised Kingdom. But we are NOT often taught that salvation is a process, but it is a decision that we make when we go down to the altar and say the “sinner’s prayer.” And afterwards, when people begin to doubt the status of their salvation, they are told to remember the decision that they have made. Again, salvation is NOT an event.

Restoring the Original Contexts

If we do not view the writings of the disciples of Yeshua from their original Jewish contexts – the Tanakh, Second-Temple Judaism, and the history of Isra’el – you will always read them wrong, and you will open the door wide for misinterpretations, misunderstandings and errors. We have seen this in Christianity for over the past nineteen centuries! Every argument that Christianity has against the continuation of the Torah is an error that they have received from HaSatan. Not one of them is from the God of Isra’el. Every one that teaches that the Torah of Mosheh (Moses) is not for Christians is “a ravenous wolf in sheep’s clothing,” and is to be ignored! They are not teaching you the truth! They are teaching deceptions and errors! Am I saying that Paul taught deceptions and errors? No, Christian interpretation is the problem. Christians do not accurately understand what the issues and problems were that going on during the Second-Temple period.

God’s One True Bride

God has only ONE BRIDE, and that is Isra’el. There is no other bride, period. If you are not part of Isra’el, the Jewish people, or have not attached yourself to Isra’el through faith in Yeshua, the Anointed-Messiah of Isra’el, then you are NOT part of the Bride of God. When Yeshua and God return to this earth, they are not coming back for anyone who is not part of the Bride, Isra’el. By becoming of the Bride, we also take on the responsibilities of that Bride, which is to teach the Torah and Israel’s Anointed-Messiah to others, and by so doing, we become “a light to the nations.” We must decide whether we are going to live our lives according to the truth of the Scriptures, or to live according to the deceptions that we are taught by our religions, regardless what name you call it. I pray that you decided to read the Bible correctly, and that you make the right decision! Return to the top
